Mona Al-Rei

Mona Al-Rei, research associate at McMaster University and internationally trained radiologist (MD). Nine years experience in diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT, DSA, Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound).Represented her country in International Visitor Leadership Program for Breast Cancer Awareness, Outreach and Research/USA. Four years in management in healthcare with excellent planning, leadership, and consultation skills. She has a track record of initiating and planning large-scale eHealth projects in her home country of Yemen where she successfully initiated the development of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and a Tele-radiology service for cancer screening. Her internship and thesis project at McMaster University led her to broaden her skills base where she created new software called M-3Ds that automated the 3D visualization of brain cancer from 2D images. With further validation and evaluation, M-3Ds software was designed for the purpose of mitigating the cognitive load and to empower health care professionals in their decision making to improve patient outcomes and safety. Because of her achievement in developing this software she has been rewarded from Faculty of Health Science at McMaster University- 2017 and got “Outstanding Achievement Award”. Two years extensive experiences in research are (preparing proposals, research methodologies, sampling, data analysing, etc …). She is currently working in a research project “Use of Computer Aided Detection (CAD) of Breast Cancer Imaging in clinical setting: A scope review /Adoption and Implementation”.
