Fraser Health AI Agents at Work
As health systems explore increasingly capable AI agents, the challenge is not simply where AI can be applied, but how to deploy it in ways that are clinically relevant, operationally valuable and sustainable. This presentation showcases Fraser Health’s experience building a broad AI portfolio across clinical, operational and corporate settings, with multiple solutions in active production and several sustained beyond the pilot stage over several years.
Fraser Health’s AI journey spans a progression from Generate, Automate, Inform and Navigate to Prioritize and Optimize, reflecting increasing levels of capability, agency and complexity. Examples include workforce automation, clinical workflow support, digital care navigation, quality and patient safety applications, medical imaging triage, and predictive discharge planning.
The presentation also highlights the organizational conditions that enable sustained adoption, including workflow selection, readiness, intake and prioritization, and governance. Together, these examples illustrate how Fraser Health is moving AI beyond proof of concept into sustained operational use while maintaining alignment with clinical priorities and measurable value for patients, providers and operations.
