Diana Erazo shared her reflections on volunteering at e-Health25 in Toronto from June 1-3, 2025:
I volunteered at the e-Health Conference & Tradeshow because it is Canada’s leading digital health event, bringing together professionals who are driving innovation in healthcare. I saw it as a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful initiative while gaining direct exposure to transformative technologies and ideas.
This volunteering experience provided me with practical, first-hand insight into real-world discussions and advanced concepts that extend well beyond classroom learning. I deepened my understanding of how AI is improving patient outcomes and system efficiency, the importance of interoperability and patient engagement, and how frameworks such as clinical decision support systems are making care more integrated and actionable.
It also widened my network by connecting me with leaders, innovators, and fellow volunteers who share my commitment to creating inclusive, efficient, and meaningful digital health solutions. I am grateful for the advice, encouragement, and connections I gained, all of which continue to inspire my journey in health informatics.
