Informatics Now: A Live Learning Series Session 5/8: Technology Ecosystem

Informatics Now: A Live Learning Series is open to individual learners who want to deepen their knowledge of health informatics, prepare for the CPHIMS-CA exam, or explore the Canadian digital health ecosystem—one module at a time. The learning series is perfect for independent professionals, new grads, or anyone ready to level up in digital health.
Spaces are limited to encourage participant engagement and networking, and to allow time for questions and answers.
Pre- and post-session resources are available at the link provided in the reminder email sent to all registrants one day before each session.
Session 5/8: Technology EcosystemThis module covers the essential concepts and components of information technology, including networks, storage devices, operating systems, and applications. Students will learn to engage stakeholders throughout the system life cycle, addressing information, business, and technical requirements.
The module emphasizes the selection and utilization of appropriate technologies to meet business needs and the application of health informatics standards to ensure system interoperability. Students will gain knowledge of health data and workflow models, applying best practices for quality management, testing, and incident management. The module also addresses the security of data, systems, devices, and networks, including emerging technologies and their impact on healthcare.
Students will be encouraged to promote the safe and appropriate use of health information technologies to ensure patient safety.
Andriana Lukich is the Director, Digital Solutions at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. She holds a HBSc Kinesiology and an MBA from McMaster University, a PMP certification and is Prosci Change Management certified. Throughout her decade of healthcare experience, she has held multiple roles all focused on leading change initiatives and supporting staff and physicians through transformational projects.
