Position Title: Summer Intern
Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Full time from May 4– August 28, 2026
Location: Work from home in the Greater Toronto Area. Involves some travel.
Start Date: Between May 4 – 11, 2026
Overview of the position
Digital Health Canada is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to assist with research and writing; contribute to key deliverables in support of our transition to a new database technology; and assist with the creation of a new health informatics credential project. This position offers excellent learning opportunities for a student interested in nonprofit work, digital health, education, and communications.
Key responsibilities
The Summer Intern is responsible for:
- Researching and identifying opportunities for the organization
- Drafting compelling applications and proposals
- Assisting with education and certification
- Supporting the integration of a new database technology
- Attending e-Health 2026 in Halifax June 14-16, 2026, and assisting with conference activities onsite
- Assisting with general administrative and organizational tasks as needed
Desired skills and experience
The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running and be ready to immerse themselves in the Canadian digital health community. The successful Summer Intern is passionate about digital health and ensuring a superior member experience.
The ideal candidate is a student of or recent graduate from Health Informatics, Health Sciences, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related discipline. Self-motivated and entrepreneurial with a proven ability to work independently, the Summer Intern brings:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under time pressure and deal effectively with stress
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
