Each session of this vital learning series will be presented virtually in real time by an established Canadian digital health professional with real-world experience, diverse regional perspectives, and proven expertise in their area of study.
This comprehensive eight-session virtual series will take learners on a journey through the core concepts of health informatics, equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills required to succeed in the Canadian digital health landscape. Materials presented will be based on the existing Digital Health Canada Core Health Informatics courses, with refreshed and updated content.

Dr. Radica Bissoondial
Professor, Fanshawe College
Read MoreDr. Radica Bissoondial is a healthcare leader and educator with foundational experience in sciences, senior care, and research. Her career began in research and development as an R&D Chemist and transitioned into Senior Operations Management in photo- chemicals. Dr. Bissoondial healthcare experience is in senior care living at leadership level within retirement and long-term care facilities as Executive Director and Administrator. A career shift into education began as an instructor within private career college then director of education in the same environment. Teaching experience includes community college and university in Ontario and university in USA. Roles in education that Dr. Bissoondial has had are Director of Education, Program Coordinator, Adjunct Faculty, Subject Matter Expert, Curriculum Developer, and Curriculum Consultant. In addition to teaching at Fanshawe College’s post-graduate Health Systems Management, she is affiliated with academic institutions in online capacity in undergraduate and graduate healthcare administration, public health, and seniors care programs. Dr. Bissoondial has held a fellowship with her alumni, University of Phoenix. She has taught on campus, online and hybrid delivery. Dr. Bissoondial has a Bachelor of Science (Toronto Metropolitan University), Master of Health Administration (University of Phoenix), Master of Education (Queen’s University) and Doctor of Health Administration (University of Phoenix). She also has an Adult Education certificate (Seneca College) and Health Care Administrative certificate (D’Youville College).

Anne-Marie was part of the Epic Implementation team at CHEO (the pediatric hospital for Eastern Ontario) as a business analyst and change management specialist. Anne-Marie Parent currently works at the Canadian Institute for Health Information as Manager, Engagement and Mobilization and is also a part-time professor in Health Informatics and Organizational Behaviour and Change at the Telfer School of Management with the University of Ottawa. Anne-Marie has a Master of Health Administration, a B. Comm. with Specialisation in Management Information Systems, and professional certifications in Project Management (PRINCE2), Change Management (Prosci), and a Black Belt in Lean Healthcare. She is a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders.

She is a Digital Solutions Program Consultant working at the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI). She led the reporting of emergency department wait times using data collected from hospitals across Canada. She has experience with various types of healthcare data. Prior to joining CIHI, Patsy worked in both the public and private sectors. She has a solid IT consulting and software engineering background in multiple industries. Patsy has been a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems – Canada (CPHIMS-CA) since 2013, and she holds a Masters Certificate in Healthcare Management. Read MoreMasooma Hassan is a health informatics professional with over a decade of experience in digital health, analytics, quality improvement, operations, and strategy. With an MSc in Health Information Sciences, her work has focused around understanding the barriers and facilitators of Artificial Intelligence adoption including the development of an Artificial Intelligence governance model. She is passionate about moving the dial toward preventive models of care using analytics and is committed to scaling predictive technologies that are grounded in equity, ethics, safety, transparency and trust. She is currently leading the implementation of AI governance and AI systems at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health. Masooma is also an adjunct lecturer with the Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation at the Dala Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.

He spent 15 years working in the hospital sector in Ontario and three years in the NSM LHIN environment. He has held positions in Finance, Administration, Community Relations, Information Technology & Services, Clinical Utilization Management, Decision Support and Digital Health. Through a 30-year career, Rod has held senior leadership positions in Information Management portfolios developing and implementing multiple IS and corporate strategic plans.
He is currently providing digital health consulting at a provincial level in Ontario.
Rod is active in the professional community and a strong believer in on-going leadership development. Along with memberships with various professional associations, he served as Board Secretary for ProResp Health in Sarnia, Board Chair of the Huronia Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic, Past President of the Ontario Chapter of the Health Information and Management Systems Society and Past President of the Southwestern Chapter of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives. He was one of the first Canadians to earn the CPHIMS-CA credential in 2005, his CDPSE and CHCIO and CDH-E credentials between 2015 and 2020 Rod earned his FCCHL in 2018 and the FHIMSS credential in 2022 as a culmination of a career commitment to ongoing professional development.
Rod’s current professional interests lay in consumer health, health system leadership, digital health, and institutional knowledge management. He continues to support health service leadership development through his ongoing involvement as a CCHL CHE Program Evaluator and Fellowship Program Evaluator and Mentor. He is a member of the CCHL Fellows Council.
