From Vision to Action: Leading People and Technology TogetherThe age of technology is here—but realizing its potential remains a challenge. Senior health leaders are uniquely positioned to drive change but must make tough decisions about what to prioritize, how to align people and strategy, and how to operationalize that vision. This session focuses on the intersection of leadership and technology—helping participants surface their most urgent leadership priorities and map practical steps to move forward. This highly interactive, executive-level session will explore shared obstacles, local leading practices, and evidence-informed leadership integration strategies—all through a technology lens. Guided by recent international research, a rapid pre-session survey, and real-time input from attendees, participants will:

Sticky Issues: Cross-Sector Challenges, Bold-Solution ThinkingSome challenges in digital health just won’t budge — they span sectors, resist simple fixes, and grow more urgent as systems evolve. In this interactive session three leaders from across the ecosystem will each share one persistent, real-world “sticky issue” they’re grappling with. Attendees will choose the challenge that resonates most with them and work in table groups to brainstorm bold, creative solutions. Each group will then pitch their top idea back to the room, surfacing fresh thinking and cross-sector perspectives that just might unlock a path forward. This session blends structured dialogue with the spirit of experimentation — and encourages CHIEF members to draw on both experience and imagination to reframe what’s possible.

Hot Takes & Humble Lessons: Straight Talk from Your Fellow CHIEF ExecutivesWe’re handing the mic to CHIEF members and invited leaders for a candid, unscripted conversation about the messy, human side of digital health leadership. A few brave voices will kick things off on stage, sharing the hard-won lessons, strong opinions, and moments that didn’t go according to plan — and what they learned from it all. Then we’ll open the floor. Attendees will have the chance to share their own quick reflections, aha moments, or “failures with footnotes” — because sometimes the most valuable leadership insights come not from the podium, but from the real world. This session is about honesty over polish, and growth over perfection. The stories will be real and the insights meaningful. Presenters:

Reading the Signals: AI in Action and What Leaders Should Do NextDrawing on the results of a Canada-wide environmental scan of clinical AI initiatives, this session will establish a clear picture of where adoption is occurring, where it is stalling, and how these patterns align with leaders’ expectations. Rather than focusing only on the data itself, we’ll emphasize the leadership implications. Following a brief presentation of the key findings, participants will engage in facilitated discussions to reflect on what these signals mean for their organizations and for the health system as a whole. Would You Rather… Shape the Next Chapter of CHIEFAs we wrap up the day, this session turns the spotlight back on you, the members who make this program what it is. Using a playful “Would You Rather” format, we’ll take a serious look at the future of the CHIEF program: what’s working, what could evolve, and where you want us to go next. Your input will directly shape how CHIEF delivers value, grows its membership, and sets its advocacy agenda. Expect a session that’s lighthearted in delivery but serious in purpose. Your answers will guide the priorities for CHIEF’s advocacy, leadership programming, and member experience going forward. |
