Digital Health Canada serves Breakfast in Winnipeg

On September 16, more than 80 healthcare delivery, digital health, and health informatics professionals gathered at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Winnipeg for WIN25, a brand-new half-day event hosted by Digital Health Canada. The event celebrated Manitoba’s leadership in digital health and gave Winnipeg-area professionals the opportunity to connect with peers, industry leaders, and local stakeholders.

The fireside chat was with Tatenda Okoi (Director of eHealth, First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba), Katrina Will (Provincial Director, Public Health Information Systems, Manitoba Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care), and Perry Kjargaard (Senior Regional Director, Canada Health Infoway), and was moderated by Funmi Ojo (Client Development Executive, Altera Digital Health). The session demonstrated the value of hearing directly from experts on the front lines of digital innovation. Their discussion about Manitoba’s leadership in public health and First Nations health offered fresh perspectives, inspiring examples, and insights attendees could bring back to their own organizations.

During the panel on Emerging Technologies and Regional Success Stories with Dr. Norm Silver (President and Co-Founder, QDoc), Dr. Dylan Marando (Siemens Healthineers), Andrea Ladouceur (CEO, Bioscience Association of Manitoba) and Shelagh Maloney (CEO, Digital Health Canada), attendees heard from thought leaders in biosciences, health technology, and virtual care. The conversation reinforced that digital transformation succeeds when innovation is purposeful and collaborative—a valuable takeaway for anyone navigating technology adoption in their own work.

Audience engagement was high: attendees asked thoughtful, relevant questions during both the fireside chat and the panel. During the networking breaks, attendees were able to connect with speakers directly, discussing ideas, sharing insights, and extending the conversations beyond the stage.

Beyond the formal agenda, the event reinforced a key benefit of Digital Health Canada events: access to a strong professional network for exchanging ideas, exploring collaborations, and staying connected.

Thank you to our breakfast sponsor, Altera Digital Health, for supporting this event, and thanks for the warm welcome, Winnipeg! We can’t wait to come back.
