Winter 2025 Core Health Informatics Learning Series: Session 3 – Analysis and Evaluation
This compact virtual real-time series of courses will take learners through the core concepts of health informatics, equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills required to succeed in the Canadian digital health landscape.
Each session of this core health informatics learning series will be presented virtually by established Canadian digital health professionals with real-world experience, diverse regional perspectives, and proven expertise in their area of study.
Session 3: Analysis and Evaluation
The Analysis and Evaluation module equips learners with the skills to analyze and interpret healthcare data effectively. Learners will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and frame information queries, ensuring that their needs for data analysis and interpretation are met.
The module covers the identification of relevant data sources, assessing the quality of information, and drawing appropriate conclusions. Learners will gain an understanding of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques, basic statistical methods, and evaluation measures. The module emphasizes organizing and transforming data into reliable and meaningful information for diverse audiences and presenting this information in an effective manner.
Additionally, learners will develop knowledge of indicators and metrics for healthcare delivery and population health. This module prepares learners to conduct thorough analyses and evaluations, supporting data-driven decision-making in the healthcare sector.

Lirije Hyseni is the Executive Director of Excellence and Clinical Experience at the eHealth Centre of Excellence with over a decade of experience in evaluation and research. Over the years, Lirije led many evaluation initiatives as an internal, as well as an external evaluator, for innovative technologies including AI scribes, automation tools, chronic disease prevention and management EMR solutions, patient engagement platforms, virtual care, eReferral, eConsult and remote patient monitoring. Through this work, she has acquired extensive knowledge of the health system context and the various nuances to be considered when evaluating digital health initiatives. Lirije currently holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Waterloo and is a Credentialed Evaluator with the Canadian Evaluation Society, reflecting her commitment to maintaining high standards in evaluation practices.
