Webinar Wednesday – Personalized Prevention Approach

Details

Date:
August 22
Time:
8:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT
Event Category:

In this webinar, Dr. Abbas Zavar will present Personalized Medicine, defined as delivering the right clinical intervention—whether diagnostic, preventive, or therapeutic—at the right time, for the right individual. You will learn about the principles of Personalized Medicine and its importance in shifting healthcare from a one-size-fits-all model to a more individualized approach. This approach leverages advanced clinical data sciences, genetic information, and patient-specific data to create tailored healthcare plans that optimize outcomes.

The session will then focus on the prevention aspect of Personalized Medicine, highlighting how early identification and intervention, based on a detailed understanding of individual risk factors, can significantly improve health outcomes.

A brief overview of the Preventive Assessment Tools (PAT) project will be provided, showcasing a research initiative to develop a suite of tools designed to assess risk factors across various health domains. These tools integrate lifestyle, environmental, clinical, and SDoH data to map risk factors to potential diseases, providing a holistic view of a patient’s health profile.

Additionally, the role of AI in this approach will be discussed, demonstrating how AI can analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and provide actionable insights that support personalized prevention strategies, ultimately leading to more precise and effective healthcare interventions.

Finally, to ensure a robust foundation for personalized preventive care, Dr. Zavar’s white paper, which explores the integration of diverse data domains—including health-related, biomarkers, lifestyle-related, and environmental—will address the required data for this comprehensive approach.
