Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is the Government of Canada’s health research investment agency that funds world-class research across the country. CIHR is comprised of 13 Institutes that promote and build upon Canada’s firm foundation of research excellence. An Institute Advisory Board (IAB) for each Institute provides advice and guidance on Institute activities and initiative, ensuring goals and mandates of the Institute are achieved.
CIHR will soon be launching its 2024 Institute Advisory Board (IAB) membership recruitment campaign. The IABs of CIHR’s Institutes are composed of dedicated volunteer members from Canada and abroad who bring a wealth of experience and expertise, offering valuable perspective on Institute activities and initiatives. This annual recruitment campaign is vital to ensuring our IABs include a diverse group of representatives including those from the health research community to serve as members on the IABs.
- Digital Health Canada members are encouraged them to apply to the 2024 IAB membership cycle at 2024 IAB Membership Cycle.
- The deadline to apply is April 25 2024.

CIHR is committed to the values and principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across all aspects of the Agency. We strongly encourage applications to the IABs from individuals belonging to Indigenous, Francophone (French as a first language) and equity-denied groups.
We are especially interested in enhancing the representation of patients, family members, and individuals with personal lived experiences on our IABs and are actively seeking assistance in identifying and connecting with potential candidates from these specific groups through your organization.
