Why is this role important?

The Team Lead, Client Systems Solutions will be responsible for the strategic, and operational activities related to the development, enhancement, lifecycle management, and overall successful delivery of CIHI access and authentication platforms such as Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Access Management (AMS) to support CIHI operations.

The Team Lead will collaborate with CIHI’s internal health system subject experts, CIHI client facing teams, external subject matter experts, and CIHI internal teams to ensure an enterprise approach to delivering initiatives that impact these platforms.

What you’ll do

  1. Acts as the Product Manager/Product Owner for CIHI’s CRM and Identity and Access Management (IAM) products which support all CIHI offerings.
  2. Leads and oversees matrix teams and direct reports made up of internal and external project staff in the development and execution of activities, projects, and supporting documentation. Supervises, coaches, coordinates and monitors work, workload, and performance of staff to ensure quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided. Conducts annual performance management reviews and contributes to recruitment and resource planning.
  3. Leads and supports specific activities for the department, including development of product roadmaps, project scoping, planning, integration and development of system solutions.
  4. Prepares, monitors, and maintains project deliverables (including scope, risks, contingencies, issue management and change management) for assigned projects.
  5. Collaborates with internal partners on external client engagement activities in support of product plans and operations.
  6. In collaboration, participates in the planning, improvement, and future direction of CIHI’s products, digital strategies, client experience, content, and roadmap.
  7. Gather and document requirements for products, in accordance with CIHI’s Information Technology, Architecture, Gating, UX, and Product standards and prescribed tools, in the form of user stories.
  8. Leads business and methodological discussions with relevant departments within CIHI with a focus on standards and integration for reporting.
  9. Liaises with other relevant departments within CIHI, to ensure coordination and synergy.
  10. Performs other related duties, and activities as required.d.

What you’ll bring to the table

  • Undergraduate degree in Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or Software Development or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health care related information management or processing environment.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience with a strong record of successful team engagement and project management.
  • Knowledge of system development lifecycle process, including agile, with a focus on product ownership, user story development and decomposition, business analysis and testing, including documenting associated deliverables (including process flow, data models, test documentation and training materials).
  •  Understanding of Pivotal, Marketo, Identity and Access Management systems or similar. Leading the business side of migration to modern CRM and IAM solution is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Team player with demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the Canadian health care system and of the importance of quality data to support performance monitoring and reporting across the system, would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders in understanding and responding to their needs.
  • Knowledge of CIHI’s business, databases, data submission and reporting processes, and products is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills. Facilitation training and/or experience, particularly involving diverse business and technical audiences, is a definite asset.
  • Experienced with modern Platform Management/Product Ownership practices including roadmap creation, change management and Agile/Scrum delivery.
  • Strong experience in delivering organizational projects using any combination of the following methodologies: Lean Process, Project Management, Waterfall, Agile Project Management.
  • Knowledge of key issues in change management and ability to drive change.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
    Fluency in English is required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
