Background:
Our anonymous client is a leading healthcare organization seeking to enhance automation within the Cancer Registry Department. This initiative is part of the Registry Enhancement Planning Project supported by the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC) through the Pan-Canadian Cancer Data Strategy (CCDS). The project aims to improve timeliness in cancer case registration through advanced AI/Natural Language Processing (NLP) software solutions and automation.
Responsibilities:
The Business Analyst will work with stakeholders, including managers, technical teams, and specialists, to assess current workflows, perform a gap analysis, and develop an implementation roadmap for the automation of manual processes. Reporting to the Provincial Manager of Population Health and Analytics and the Provincial Manager of Cancer Registry, responsibilities include:
- Conduct sustainability assessments of the current registry systems.
- Lead and participate in discovery workshops and requirements-gathering sessions.
- Perform an environmental scan and leverage CPAC’s scan.
- Document business requirements and current/future state workflows.
- Develop a roadmap for implementing automation solutions, including human, technical, and financial resources required.
- Provide progress reports to project managers.
- Assist in identifying reporting needs.
- Travel to Regina and Saskatoon may be required.
Key Deliverables:
- Assemble a team to identify AI/NLP software for timely case ascertainment and sustainability.
- Perform a current-state analysis and needs assessment.
- Conduct a gap analysis and recommend preferred software solutions.
- Develop a detailed implementation roadmap, including resource allocation.
- Provide summary data to CPAC to support ongoing evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, business administration, engineering, or healthcare.
- Experience: 7-10 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, with experience in healthcare informatics preferred. Experience in integrated environments and working with Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
- Accreditation: CBAP certification is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of business analysis methods, process documentation, and enterprise/business requirements.
- Understanding of AI, NLP, and software automation processes.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to solve complex problems independently and manage multiple tasks.
