The Ontario eHub HIE aims to improve Electronic Health Record (EHR) interoperability by facilitating seamless data sharing across healthcare providers, which is crucial for comprehensive patient care, especially in emergency settings. The study uses an interpretive description methodology, guided by the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, to assess the factors influencing HIE utilization in the ED. Findings will provide insights into how the eHub HIE integrates into clinical workflows and suggest improvements for future expansions to other healthcare settings.
