SUMMARY:Webinar Wednesday - Sustaining Rural Physicians: Mitigating Burnout and Improving Retention through Hybrid Care Models
DESCRIPTION:Physician burnout and workforce attrition threaten the sustainability of rural healthcare. Hybrid care models\, where virtual physicians support on-site teams in real time\, reduce workload and improve professional well-being. Drawing on preliminary evidence from partnered hospitals and 2024 national provider survey results\, findings show improved morale\, work-life balance\, and coverage stability. These results establish a foundation for ongoing evaluation with updated data to be included in future presentations.

SUMMARY:Responsible AI Governance in Healthcare: Global Lessons & Practical Approaches for Canada
DESCRIPTION:As artificial intelligence rapidly moves from experimentation to real-world deployment in healthcare\, leaders across Canada are grappling with a critical question: how do we ensure these technologies are implemented safely\, ethically\, and in ways that deliver meaningful value? \nThis webinar brings a global perspective to that challenge. \nJoin us for a timely and thought-provoking conversation with Dr. Ricardo Baptista Leite\, CEO of HealthAI\, The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health – an independent\, international organization working with governments\, health systems\, and multilateral partners to advance responsible AI governance in health. \nDrawing on experience across jurisdictions and health systems\, Dr. Leite will share practical insights about how countries and organizations are approaching AI governance today: what’s working\, where challenges persist\, and what it takes to move from principles to implementation. His keynote will be followed by a live Q&A\, creating space to explore how these global insights apply in the Canadian context. \nGrounded in real-world examples\, the conversation will explore: \n\nInternational Perspectives on AI Governance: Emerging global approaches to responsible AI governance in healthcare\, drawing on experiences across jurisdictions and health systems.\nInsights from Early Adoption: Key lessons learned from early adopters across policy and practice\, highlighting what’s working and where challenges remain.\nNavigating Framework Implementation: The common challenges that emerge when translating AI governance frameworks into real-world use.\nOperationalizing Responsible AI: Practical strategies to support safe\, scalable\, and trustworthy AI implementation across health systems\, organizations\, and the people they serve.\n\nThis session is designed for a broad audience across the health ecosystem including clinicians\, health system leaders\, researchers\, academics\, policymakers\, and patient partners\, reflecting the shared responsibility required to shape how AI is integrated into care. \nWhether you are actively leading AI initiatives or just beginning to explore their implications\, this conversation will offer valuable global perspective and actionable insight to inform your work.

SUMMARY:Webinar Wednesday - The Health Advisory Network: Introducing a powerful new voice in healthcare. Yours.
DESCRIPTION:For over 35 years\, HealthPartners has brought workplaces\, health charities and the communities of people with lived experience they serve together under one shared purpose – to improve the lives of those affected by illness. \nThe HealthPartners Health Advisory Network is an online community initiative by HealthPartners designed to elevate the voice of people with lived experience in shaping Canada’s healthcare future. Grounded in the belief that better outcomes start with listening to patients and caregivers\, the Network connects individuals who have experienced illness—or cared for someone who has—with learnings poised to influence donors and decision makers to help build a healthier Canada for us all. \nThrough this initiative\, HealthPartners created a structured and accessible way for Canadians to contribute their perspectives virtually— ensuring that those most affected by healthcare decisions are meaningfully involved in shaping them. By bridging the gap between people with lived experiences and the health ecosystem\, the Health Advisory Network offers a scalable model for embedding patient insight into system design and evaluation. \nOur presentation will highlight how the Network operationalizes patient engagement at scale and share early learnings from our recent findings – highlighting the experiences of over 400 individuals who are part of this network. It will also explore the impact of integrating patient voices into decision-making — from improving the relevance of solutions to building greater trust and accountability across the healthcare system.
