Dr. Ted Scott is Chief Innovation Officer and Director of Strategy at Hamilton Health Sciences in Hamilton, Ontario. As Chief Innovation Officer, Ted focuses on bringing resources, partnerships and thought leadership to the significant efforts that already exist in the organization to develop new ideas, processes, technologies and approaches.With dual responsibility for advancing the strategy, Ted also ensures that HHS initiatives are focused on achieving the North Star metrics that have been deemed important to the success in realizing the vision of Best Care for All. In addition, Ted is the prime interface with IBM and HHS partners in the exciting Collaboration and Innovation Centre (CIC).Ted Scott is a researcher, lecturer and expert in the clinical applications of ultrasound instrumentation and imaging techniques. He has enjoyed clinical practice, working on the front lines of large teaching hospitals, a small community hospital and a private healthcare enterprise as well as teaching at Mohawk College. As a faculty member, Ted helped create and develop the Mohawk-McMaster Medical Radiation Sciences program and the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program. More recently, as Chief Innovation Officer, Ted has facilitated the implementation of a number of initiatives, including iDeaWORKS, a centre that helps students, local businesses and non-profits experiment, learn and grow. Always an advocate for innovation, Ted leads the adoption of technologies that drive better learning outcomes and enable access and flexibility during the learning experience.
