As a front-line registered nurse in the acute care settings of the ICU and NICU, for the first 15 years of her career, Dawn developed a passion for patient safety and family centered care. Subsequent roles in clinical informatics including her current role further added to her desire to promote safe care for all patients through best practice, evidence based, standardized clinical content within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Additionally, the benefits of well-designed clinical content within the EHR for clinicians, nurses and the multi-disciplinary team have been a key driver to her continuing the pursuit of learning and educating others in this area.
