June 12, 2019 – Nelson Shen PhD – Patient privacy concerns is an oft-cited barrier to digital health innovations; however, the patient privacy perspective is not well-understood. The eHealth Trust Model (eHTM) provides an evidence-based and theory-grounded approach to understanding the patient perspective. This presentation highlights the findings from three-interrelated studies which informed the development of the eHTM and discusses its implications in the ever-evolving digital health environment.
Nelson Shen, PhD, is a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto. His research revolves around patient engagement in the design and implementation of digital health innovations. His research interests include information system/behaviour theory, patient privacy, consumer health, and healthcare design thinking.
