Jon Develing, NHS Wirral – In the previous operating model in the Wirral, a small peninsula opposite Liverpool, England, the health and care organizations worked in silos to deliver services to residents, whose life expectancy varied by almost 12 years within a mere 1.5 miles. This session describes the complex challenges in overcoming this situation and the progress in improving outcomes, despite a tough financial environment for the NHS.
