Mohawk College would like to invite you to participate in the field placement program for the Digital Health Bachelors Degree Program.
The goal of this placement program is to help students to bridge the gap between the classroom and the “real-world”. By providing a field placement, the employer also becomes involved in the learning practicum, imparting valuable knowledge, experience, and mentoring. It is our hope that by working together, we can continue to provide employers with knowledgeable students who offer quality work, professionalism, and leadership potential.
The 420 hour (minimum of 12 weeks at 35 hours) field placement is a mandatory component of the program and serves to provide on-the-job training for the students. Students are available for placement commencing as early as Monday, April 24, 2023. Please confirm your participation in the 2022 student placement program by January 15, 2023 by completing the online Employer Participation Form at: www.mohawkcollege.ca/form/digital-health-emplyr-part-form.
Paid placements may be eligible for government incentives including the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) which can cover up to 70% of a student’s wages. We are also welcoming unpaid placements in the digital health field to provide our students with relevant work experience.
Program Highlights
Honours degree program provides a solid general background in digital health covering computer science, healthcare and business fundamentals.
Students excel in software development, information and database management, quality assurance and testing, systems analysis and design, networking, information security, telehealth systems and project management.
Our students also have excellent soft skills including communication, team work and critical thinking skills.

Placement Process
Hiring is easy!
- Step 1: Complete the online Employer Participation Form at: www.mohawkcollege.ca/form/digital-health-emplyr-part-form
- Step 2: Review resumes provided for pre-screening
- Step 3: Set up interviews. Interviews can be scheduled at your company, by video, or by phone.
During the term, we ask that the student is provided a supervisor they can go to for support. As well, that they are willing to provide feedback by completing 2 of our evaluations per placement term.
Please be aware Mohawk College has also introduced the “The Mohawk College Student Placement Agreement” & “COVID-19 Impact Assessment Form” if you haven’t submitted these forms previously they will be emailed to you after you submit the employer participation form.
