Why is this role important?

Working in a fast-paced environment, the Senior Analyst, Ontario Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs), is involved in a broad range of activities. The Senior Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting CIHI’s Ontario PROMs program for hip and knee replacements, including the development and production of analytical and descriptive reports for program partners and participating hospitals. The Senior Analyst will support data management activities for PROMs including data quality analyses, preparing data files for the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders as needed, and responding to client requests for information. The Senior Analyst will also provide strong analytical leadership and support for new measure development and expansion.

What you’ll do

  1. Supports data management activities for PROMs, working with external data providers, ensuring timely receipt of the data, tracking submissions, processing, and data quality issues.
  2. Responsible for the production of quarterly and ad hoc reports for PROMs, including data analysis, verification, interpretation, writing and reporting. This includes development and enhancement of standardized reports minimizing the need for manual effort. Also includes the preparation and delivery of presentations.
  3. Provides timely and client-oriented services in response to requests for data/information from internal and external clients in accordance with CIHI privacy and related policies and procedures.
  4. Responsible for performing ongoing data quality checks and producing comprehensive documentation as per the CIHI corporate data quality framework and other technical documentation needs for PROMs.
  5. Supports the maintenance of PROMs standards in collection and reporting. This includes the conduct of research and environmental scans, participation in stakeholder and expert consultations, and the development of analytical methodologies and measures that support the ability to compare PROMs.
  6. Develops and maintains a detailed knowledge of hip and knee replacement PROMs, the Canadian Joint Replacement Registry (CJRR), and knowledge of databases used by the Ontario PROMs Program such as the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) and the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS).
  7. Participates and supports expert advisory committee meetings and expert working groups.
  8. Provides mentoring to other analytical team members.
  9. Participates in related internal and external projects and activities, as required.
