Why is this role important?
The Senior Analyst, Digital Solutions supports the design, delivery, maintenance and enhancement of CIHI’s digital products and platforms. Working across multi-disciplinary teams, this role translates business and user needs into technical requirements, performs data manipulation and analysis, develops reporting and dashboards, supports quality assurance and deployment activities, and provides stakeholder-facing client support to ensure high-quality, data-driven digital solutions.
What you’ll do
- Gather, analyze and document user and business requirements; translate them into detailed specifications, user stories, process flows and information systems documentation.
- Produce process diagrams, data flow and system specification artifacts to support development and testing.
- Develop, validate and maintain data extracts and transformations using SQL and related data tools.
- Design, develop and support dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI).
- Create and execute quality assurance and user acceptance testing (UAT): develop test plans and test cases, coordinate testing and document results.
- Support solution implementation and release activities; coordinate with developers, product owners, UX, and operations for successful deployments.
- Conduct data quality assessments and reconciliation; troubleshoot data issues and propose remediation.
- Prepare technical and end-user documentation, training materials and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Monitor platform usage and performance metrics; contribute recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, provide status updates and resolve issues.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and apply SDLC best practices.
What you’ll bring to the table
- Undergraduate degree in Health Information, Statistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in health care related information management, data processing or analytical environment.
- Experience producing requirements documentation, user stories, process maps and UAT artifacts.
- Advanced proficiency with Python and PySpark.
- Proficiency with relational databases.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using GitLab and Jira.
- QA/testing and release coordination experience.
- Hands-on experience with BI and reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik or Power BI is an asset.
- Experience working within a project team, contributing to documentation, and providing user support.
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex ideas simply.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational/time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Client-service orientation and effective stakeholder management.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with health data would be considered an asset.
- Must comply with all CIHI workplace policies, including privacy and confidentiality.
- Fluency in English is required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
