Reports to: Director, Conferences and Events & Sr. Manager, Education
Status: Full-time employment
Location: Work from home in the Greater Toronto Area. Involves some travel.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000

Overview of the position
Digital Health Canada is looking for a Program & Event Specialist with strong communication and collaboration skills, and solid organizational skills. The individual will be responsible for working with committees to create programming, sourcing speakers, working with suppliers and venues and working in Education to maintain Digital Heath Canada’s credential CPHIMS-CA. The Program & Event Specialist will attend some in-person meetings and events and in some instances will be the lead for the event or program. Reporting to the Director, Conferences and Events for event work and Senior Manager Education for education work, this is a full-time employment role.

Key Responsibilities
Education programming
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager to ensure program quality, learner engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, feedback, and certifications, and support reporting needs as needed.
- Coordinate and support education-related committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and tracking action items.
- Manage the learning management system (LMS), ensuring content is up-to-date, organized, and accessible to learners.
- Support learners pursuing the CPHIMS-CA designation by responding to inquiries, providing guidance, and ensuring access to relevant materials.
- Liaise with our exam partner to exchange and reconcile candidate information, results, and other relevant data.
- Oversee the Continuing Education Program, including application intake, credit tracking, and approvals.
- Prepare and deliver detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on program engagement, learner progress, and operational metrics.
Event programming
- Manage conferences/meetings/special events both virtually and in-person
- Liaise directly with staff, committee members, partners and vendors
- Work with e-Health Conference exhibitors and sponsors to fulfill all contract details including:
- Tradeshow placement
- Working with show services
- Work on all fulfillment responsibilities
- Other event planning duties as required such as:
- Accessibility/ASL coordination
- venue sourcing
- Source and review vendor contracts
- cost projection and budget analysis for each event
- online registration/event management
- onsite set-ups
- audio visual requirements
- catering arrangements/menu selection
- on-site registration
- supplier and vendor management
- Prepare and deliver detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management and team members
- Other duties as required
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running and be ready to immerse themselves in the Canadian digital health community. The successful Program & Events Specialist is passionate about education and planning and delivering quality events and ensuring a superior member experience.
Candidates should possess:
- Experience in education delivery or management or creation considered an asset
- Experience in event planning and logistics
- Experience working with volunteer committees or advisory groups
- Experience with web-based tools including learning management systems, event management/registration tool
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
- Creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work overtime and travel to attend on-site meetings when required
- Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial with a proven ability to work independently
- Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel & Outlook
