Why is this role important?
Under the direction of the Corporate Products Team Lead, the Product Administrator is responsible for the operations, support and administration of programs and modules within comprehensive commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) information systems including CIHI’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The Product Administrator provides product support for a range of COTS products and performs related operational tasks including but not limited to user administration, service requests fulfilment, incident management, problem resolution and client support.
What you’ll do
- Performs product administration functions including operational support, refreshes, user administration and fulfilling other approved service requests following pre-defined standard operating procedures.
- Works as part of product delivery team to administer and sustain operations for a portfolio of CIHI’s COTS products, which may include basic requirements analysis, configuration, testing, quality assurance, implementation and documentation on small-scale configuration.
- Develops, demonstrates, and maintains a thorough understanding of CIHI business systems standards, tools and techniques, best practices and its underlying quality assurance principles and processes as well as CIHI policies to pertaining to product support, maintenance and administration.
- Works closely with the COTS vendor support teams, internal Infrastructure team, DBAs, developers on maintenance/resolution of application related issues, defects and deficiencies.
- Develops and maintains software-specific troubleshooting documentation, and conducts transfer knowledge to ensure bench-strength within team.
- Participates in the preparation of work estimates and progress reports as required.
- Maintains ongoing contact with the Team Lead and/or internal clients to ensure production/project deliverables, client change requests are being met, service requests are being fulfilled and incidents are being resolved in a timely manner
- Develops, modifies and executes test plans and test cases as needed, and ensures correct and comprehensive testing and sign-off procedures in adherence to CIHI’s System Development Life Cycle Methodology and Quality Assurance processes.
- Responsible for the promotion and implementation of configuration changes in accordance with CIHI’s Change Management processes.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and provides innovative solutions to automate manual tasks.
What you’ll bring to the table
- University degree or equivalent education/experience in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
- 1 – 3 years’ experience working in complex environments and working on COTS products or business applications.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) configuration or other COTS Products is required; Experience with Unit 4 ERP or ServiceNow is an asset.
- Experience maintaining and supporting applications in a Windows or Linux environment.
- Experience developing/querying in SQL in SQL Server or Oracle environment is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to perform tasks with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to understand and prioritize user and business requirements, and to conceptualize information processing solutions in response to them.
- Ability to plan and coordinate workload effectively.
- Team player with the ability to work both to collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas/processes in simple terminology.
- Fluency in English is required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
