Overview of the position

Since 2000, the annual e-Health Conference and Tradeshow has created valuable learning and networking opportunities for organizations and people working to make a difference in Canadian health through information and technology. e-Health is hosted by three partner organizations—Canada Health Infoway, Canadian Institute for Health Information, and Digital Health Canada—and this year will be taking place virtually June 1-2, 2022.

Digital Health Canada is looking for a dynamic Marketing and Communications Specialist to help promote e-Health 2022. The successful candidate must be a creative and independent self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and proven marketing and communications experience.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations, Digital Health Canada and collaborating with the e-Health 2022 team, the Marketing and Communications Specialist works with stakeholders to conceive and implement e-Health marketing, communication, and public relations strategies. This is a five-month part-time contract that will conclude with the production of the e-Health 2022 Virtual Conference and Tradeshow on June 1st and 2nd, 2022.

Key Responsibilities

The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end process of all marketing and communications activities for the national conference, including:

  • Creating compelling email blasts
  • Making website updates
  • Creating and scheduling social media posts
  • Managing conference virtual platform look and feel consistent with e-Health brand
  • Sponsor recognition through conference platform, social media, and emails
  • Media liaison
  • Managing e-Health 2022 Marketing Committee meetings
  • Providing regular reporting on email, social media, and website activity
  • Other marketing and communications duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running and be ready to tackle all marketing and communications functions for the national confence and contribute ideas to increase e-Health Conference visibility, sponsorship, and attendance . Candidates must possess:

  • Seven to ten years event marketing experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in media, marketing, communications, or a related subject
  • Experience using MailChimp, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and WordPress
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe CC
  • Demonstrated writing, design, and project coordination skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure, make decisions, solve problems, and meet deadlines
  • Creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial with a proven ability to work independently
