Clinical Informatics Specialist, Information Technology Services (ITS)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervises clinical application systems and implementation of new clinical learning skills
  • Collaborates with clinical and ITS professionals in the development and implementation of new clinical information systems
  • Evaluates existing system operations, including costs, volumes, data flow, documents, and reports
  • Performs initial and ongoing system and process analysis, conducting discover activities in the areas of customer workflow definition and improvement
  • Examines new technology and evaluates suitability for use within the strategic information system plan
  • Communicates project status to Clinical Leaders and Quality Risk
  • Provides support and maintenance for clinical systems
  • Participates in and guides the design, development, testing, and implementation of clinical systems.
  • Assists in the research, review, analysis, and coordination of clinical systems.
  • Functions as both a project leader and project member.
  • Develops tools, teaches, continually evaluates and updates clinical staff in the effective use of applications
  • Researches issues and recommends actions based upon data analysis
  • Possesses the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and analyze and interpret data
  • Initiates and coordinates the testing and implementation of software fixes, upgrades, and implementations

Qualifications & Registration required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Clinical discipline or related discipline
  • Five years’ relevant technical and/or related experience serving in a similar capacity and in an environment with tasks of similar scope, complexity, and technical difficulty
  • Experience in clinical informatics; administration, education, and/or staff development required
  • Registers with Professional Affiliation as required
  • Experience in Emergency Medicine, Behaviour Health or Physician Support is preferred
