The Chief, Strategy, Growth & Stakeholder Relations serves as a key strategist working closely with the CEO, the Executive Team, senior leadership and key stakeholders to lead communication and stakeholder engagement portfolio, including proactively identifying opportunities and risks, and develop approaches to engagement, collaboration, and innovation that create value for OntarioMD and its products and services.

The Chief, Strategy, Growth & Stakeholder Relations provides strategic direction that impacts corporate reputation and position within the health sector, as well as the exploration, initiation and development of new lines of relationships/business/services and associated revenue for OntarioMD considering both the Ontario and broader digital health market.  The incumbent is a core member of the Executive Management Team in support of the overall strategic objectives of OntarioMD.

Under the direction of the CEO, the role will include the following responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership

  • As a Senior member of the Executive Management team, lead the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic, tactical and operational stakeholder engagement plans, programs, projects and initiatives to align with OntarioMD’s vision, goals and direction, and ensure alignment with Ontario Medical Association (OMA) overall strategy.
  • Advise Senior Executives on client engagement status, strategies and emerging issues to support strategic decision processes and major or critical issues response.

Innovation & Business Development

  • Explores new technologies/partnerships for advancing OntarioMD products and services.
  • Works with physicians/practices/patients to explore possible product and service evolution opportunities.
  • Proactively responds to business opportunities (RFPs, Business Cases, etc.), and forges new partnerships/funding opportunities working closely with the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Explores opportunities for expansion of market, new business and service lines, and size/model/ monetization of service.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Plan and lead the implementation of integrated stakeholder engagement programs and initiatives to improve and enhance the perceptions and experiences of physicians and communities and the role of OntarioMD.
  • Lead specific stakeholder outreach initiatives, dialogue and other forms of engagement to understand key concerns and issues and inform review and enhancement of services and service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to exchange information with client groups, community, other levels of government and other stakeholders to inform strategic and operational decisions related to programs and services.
  • Review and advocate on matters impacting community clinicians related to the strategic priorities and delivery commitments of OntarioMD; including the identification and execution of strategic partnerships that align to the mandate of OntarioMD.

Marketing & Communications

  • Responsible for direction and management of internal Marketing and Communications function at OntarioMD.

Requirements that are important to us:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience ideally in the healthcare and/or electronic marketplace, and senior management.
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Executive-level strategic thinking, business acumen and business analysis.
  • Demonstrated impact & influence, relationship building, proven leadership & interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to anticipate potential obstacles and future trends with strategic thinking skills and the ability to put abstract concepts into operational success.
  • Experience in Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement, ideally in the healthcare and/or electronic marketplace, and significant experience in defining new products and successfully bringing them to market.
  • Experience in developing and delivering change management methodologies, either through a services organization or consulting environment.
  • Ability to work in diversified teams and guide and motivate team members; strong communication and presentation skills; facilitation and negotiation/ mediation skills.
  • PMP and CPHIMS-CA designations would be an asset
