DESCRIPTION:As Canada advances toward more integrated and AI-enabled health systems\, physicians continue to experience electronic medical record (EMR) frustrations that impact patient care and workflow efficiency. This mixed method study explores what physicians truly need from their EMRs versus what they find unacceptable\, through a provincial study and specialty-specific focus groups. By identifying priority functionalities and key design gaps\, this work offers evidence-based insights to inform EMR redesign\, interoperability initiatives\, and physician-centred digital health strategies.
