Why do you want to join the Digital Health Canada Board of Directors at this point in your career?
I have spent the last 18 years in the Digital Health space working to advance the Canadian Health system through technology. Providing my expertise to the Board of Digital Health Canada would be a significant next step to in this journey.
How does your experience align with the Digital Health Canada strategic plan and mandate?
My time in the digital health space has given me insight into the challenge’s healthcare faces and how technology can help. Being part of a growing Canadian company with customers across Canada provides both contacts and perspectives across multiple sectors and geographies. These insights and perspectives are important to share with Digital Health professionals and the direction of Digital Health Canada.
What unique skills, perspectives and contributions would you bring to the Digital Health Canada Board?
As a senior executive at a medium sized healthcare vendor, I can represent this valuable perspective as it is important for our private Canadian businesses to have a voice in the direction Digital Health Canada takes. Having spent many years working with international health systems I can bring perspectives from outside of Canada to help advance our mandate. I also bring to the board the ability to distill key points and ideas from challenging and passionate conversations.

I have not had any direct patient care experience.

Emerging Professionals; Vendors; IM/IT Practitioners; Leaders; National eHealth Organizations; Digital Health Entrepreneurs
With which Digital Health Canada committees, task groups or activities have you volunteered in past five years? Describe your most significant contributions to Digital Health Canada’s mission.
I am a member of the CHIEF Advisory committee, the Chair of the Alberta Chapter of Digital Health Canada, and facilitated a webinar on Trends in Healthcare Navigation at a webinar Wednesday. Through all the work I do with Digital Health Canada and the Alberta Health Information Exchange I work to promote lifelong learning, empowered employees, and healthcare advocacy.
What other board appointments or relevant leadership experiences have you had in the past five years?
The two most relevant are: Alberta Health Information Exchange Board Member and Chair of the Alberta Chapter of Digital Health Canada. Outside of that I’m a Senior Leader within Strata Health where I have contributed to Corporate Strategic Plans and am a member of the CHIEF Advisory Committee.

As a Senior Executive at a Canadian digital health business that services the needs of 500,000+ Canadians each year I bring a valuable perspective to Digital Health Canada. I believe that Digital Health Canada can help enable companies and professionals succeed and that this will improve our healthcare system nationally. The voice of Digital Health Canada has the ability to drive change and should represent the entire digital health community. The skills and experience I bring can not only help direct that voice to the areas where we can add the most value, but also ensure we do so in a way that can succeed.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computing Science from Thompson Rivers University.

Kevin has lent his expertise to every level of healthcare information technology over the past 18 years, allowing him to grow and develop deep insight into the challenges healthcare faces. With a reputation for integrity and accountability, he is a leader in business development, software implementation, and intuitive client experience / support. An industry veteran, he has a personal commitment to using the power of technology and innovation for good. Active within the digital health space, Kevin is a board member for the Alberta Health Information Exchange as well as the Chair of the Alberta Chapter of Digital Health Canada. As an active member of CHIEF (Canadian Health Information Executive Forum), he works with the leaders in Healthcare on a regular basis and is a part of the CHIEF Advisory Committee.
