Digital Health Canada today announced the launch of a new chapter to serve members in British Columbia (BC).
“Over 300 BC-based Digital Health Canada members will benefit from the strong local professional networking, education, and leadership opportunities through our BC Chapter,” said Mark Casselman, CEO, Digital Health Canada. “The successful launch in 2018 of our Atlantic Chapter paved the way for a second regional chapter that will allow us to better serve the needs of our members on the west coast.“
The new chapter will build on existing membership activities like the annual Ahead of the Curve Vancouver Conference, Vancouver CPHIMS-CA exam sittings, and custom education sessions. The Digital Health Canada BC chapter will enhance the membership experience for our BC-based members through a proposed schedule that will include:
- Professional development and volunteer leadership opportunities for local professionals through Digital Health Canada “Communities of Action” and contribution to national working groups and publications;
- Education, training, and certification exams; and,
- MeetUp events that highlight mentoring, networking, and volunteer leadership opportunities for local professionals.
Regional chapters complement and support the Digital Health Canada member experience and bring value to individual professionals, public and private sector member organizations, and the Canadian digital health industry. “We listen closely to our members’ needs and professional interests. A regional chapter approach is just one of ways in which we will create additional member value while connecting with other local organizations as we deliver on our 2017-2020 Strategic Plan,” said Casselman.
First steps for the BC Chapter will be the development of an Advisory Committee and calendar of events, and a call for volunteers. The Digital Health Canada website will be updated with event information and members will be advised of all opportunities through weekly Pulse e-newsletters.
