My commitment to advancing digital health extends across multiple organizations and forums. Early on in my membership, I have volunteered to support webinars with Digital Health Canada. I have also actively participated in Digital Health Canada’s programs as a regular attendee at webinars, regional events, and conferences including e-Health and BC25. Beyond DHC, I have contributed for five+ years to the national Virtual Health Community of Practice (CoP), where I engage in cross-sector discussions about implementing digital health solutions.

These parallel engagements have given me a unique perspective on both Digital Health Canada’s role in our professional community and the broader digital health landscape. I’ve gained valuable insights into member priorities while building relationships with peers across the country. My participation in the National Virtual Health CoP has exposed me to practical implementation challenges and innovative approaches from jurisdictions across Canada.

The combination of experiences positions me to bring valuable perspective to the Board. I understand both what makes Digital Health Canada special as an organization and how it can further strengthen its value proposition within Canada’s evolving digital health ecosystem.

Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting organizations as a board member, helping to build strong governance frameworks and shape meaningful strategies. My contributions have focused on ensuring organizations remain both mission-driven and operationally effective.

Being a member of the Greater Victoria Local Immigration Partnership’s (GVLIP) Health Sector Table has been particularly impactful on me as a healthcare leader. Working alongside dedicated healthcare and community leaders, we’ve advanced culturally competent care while addressing systemic barriers to health equity. This experience has shown me how thoughtful governance can create real change where it matters most.

Additionally, my board service with faith-based organizations and corporations has given me hands-on experience in strategic planning, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. Whether helping organizations navigate growth periods or challenging transitions, I’ve learned how to ask the right questions, synthesize diverse perspectives, and guide decision-making.

These experiences have shaped my belief that good governance should be both principled and practical. As a Digital Health Canada board member, I would bring this same thoughtful approach, ensuring our strategies meet the needs of all members while positioning the organization for long-term impact in Canada’s evolving digital health landscape.
