Digital Health Canada is a Charter IMIA member and has represented Canada since 1980. The world body for health and biomedical informatics, IMIA provides leadership and expertise to the multidisciplinary, health-focused community and policy makers to enable the transformation of healthcare in accord with the worldwide vision of improving the health of the world population. Digital Health Canada supports the goals and objectives of IMIA and works within the international community to further the development of HI and represent the best interests of our members. Digital Health Canada is an active participant in the development and implementation of international standards for health information as the key to electronic health record (EHR) initiatives in Canada and worldwide. Digital Health Canada also contributes to international standards development through member involvement with the ISO Technical Committee on Health Informatics (TC 215), HL7 and International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) and is officially represented on the Canada Health Infoway Standards Collaborative committees.
Digital Health Canada and the Centre for Education and Training (TCET) together deliver a custom education program that provides education and resources for new Canadians with healthcare, information management, or information technology experience.
