Digital Health Canada is pleased to announce the winning teams from the Hacking Health Hackathon @ e-Health 2018, which took place in Vancouver May 27-30, 2018. Participants worked hand-in-hand with patients and clinician experts to build innovative software solutions focused on prevention, home care, and community care for people living with chronic disease. Winners and prizes were announced by Hacking Health co-founder Luc Sirois at the Hackathon Award Ceremony on May 29, 2018.
The Hacking Health judging panel included Dr. Chris Hobson (Orion Health), Shiran Isaacksz (Digital Health Canada Board President), Herbet Brasileiro (CIHI), Sue Sepa (CIHI), and e-Health patient representatives Kerri Mackay and Francine Buchanan.
Orion Health Prize Winner: WikiMeds*
What they won: 20+ hrs of consultation with Dr. Chris Hobson, CMO of Orion Health.
Digital Health Canada Prize Winner: SAM: The Smart Automated Medical Assistant*
What they won: Digital Health Canada Membership for all team members plus: free registration for a Digital Health Canada Regional Conference of their choice; an article in Healthcare Information Management and Communications Canada; a featured blog on digitalhealthcanada.com; and a Webinar Wednesday presentation time slot.
CIHI Prize Winner: Care Circles*
What they won: $1000 cash gift, an article on CIHI.ca about the winning team, and an opportunity to promote the winning team through CIHI social media channels.
Infoway Prize Winner: Care Circles*
